I have installed the above KBs and after running the SharePoint Configuration Wizard I found that when I create a new site with a previously defined Site Template that the Page - -> page settings on the page editing menu had disappeared and any attempt to create a page on the newly created site resulted in a "List Not Found Error. (I checked that everything was checked in on the master page and pagelayouts)

 

If you waited about 10 mins then suddenly everything would start working again !

 

Also Alerts on Lists stopped working (but alerts on list items still worked !)

So I cleared out the ImmedSubscriptions andEventCache tables and re-applyed the alerttemplates.xml via stsadm -o updatealerttempleates and still no luck with the alerts .

 

When I get any further with these probelms I will update this entry.

 

U P D A T E

The problem is caused by me creating the subsites using a template created using "Save Site As Template".

THIS METHOD IS NOT SUPPORTED BY MICROSOFT FOR PUBLISHING SITES
